Brief History of MAS-AMiCUS CMU
More than thirty years of sharing a common faith among Seventh-day Adventist students inside this non-Adventist operated institution.
On 2001, a survey indicates that there are about 250,000 SDA young people studying in colleges and universities around the world
About 30% of the number is attending in our Adventist institutions
70% are in non-Adventist institution
Two main reasons why the MAS was organized:
1.To free Sabbath classes
2.To free Sabbath exams
1975Pastor Peter Donton (Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital Chaplain) organized the summer retreat held at Puga-an Riverside Church compound.

MAS-AMiCUS is a duly recognized non-profit, non-class organization of Seventh-day Adventist students in Central Mindanao University. Its intentions were to bring on a more specific outreach focus, in ways that do not compromise our faith; not to be different, but with a message that brings personal joy; to reach within our university with compassionate service as demonstrated by Jesus Christ; to reach out to the community's felt needs and point them to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who raises us to a higher standard of physical, mental, and spiritual living; to share with other Christian and non-Christian students the good news of Jesus' soon return; to reach out to local Adventist churches in loving services; and, to be a nurturing link with Adventist students, Adventist Youth Ministries, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
